Objective: Submit project hours for a direct report who has not entered their own time.
Prerequisites: You must have the security role (e.g., Project Manager) to perform this action for your team.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Navigate to the Task:
From your Workday Home page, click on the Time and Absence application.
Alternative: You can also type "Enter Time for Worker" in the search bar or access it from the worker’s profile under Related Actions > Time > Enter Time for Worker.
Initiate Entry:
Under the "Tasks" or "Team Actions" menu, select Enter Time for Worker.
Select Worker and Date:
Worker: Search for and select the team member you are entering time for.
Date: Select the specific date you need to enter hours for. Click OK.
Enter Time Details:
You will see the worker's calendar. Click on the specific day (or empty space) to open the "Enter Time" pop-up.
Time Type: Click the prompt icon and select Project Plan Tasks to ensure it is logged as project time.
Project Task: Navigate through the menu to select the specific Project and Project Phase.
Hours: Enter the total hours worked for that specific task (e.g., 4).
Add Required Information:
Comments: You must enter a comment (e.g., "Labor and development," "Testing") for project time entries. This is a required field.
Click OK to save the entry to the calendar.
Submit:
Review the entry on the calendar to ensure it looks correct.
Click the Review button at the bottom of the page.
On the summary page, click Submit to finalize the entry.
